Nepal Peak Climbing
Climbing in Nepal is the dream of mountaineers all over the world. Mount Everest lies here, which is ultimate goal. Everest is so popular that one has to wait in a long queue for five to six years to book the peak.
Besides the lofty Himalayan summits, there are 18 minor peaks called trekking summits, which can be climbed by trekkers. For this a proper permit is required from the Nepalese authorities. Some of these trekking peaks are reasonably difficult and provide a good degree of adventure.
Apart from Everest, other mountaineering peaks in Nepal have also to be booked in advance. Applications in this regard are to be addressed to the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). Permission for the trekking the peaks is usually granted for a period of two weeks and this can be extended for an additional two weeks.
