Overview of Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake Trek-14 Days

The Annapurna circuit with Tilicho Lake Trek is one of the most breathtaking route hikes in the whole wide world. It is a classic Annapurna Circuit trek that includes the ever-more beautiful glacial lake, Tilicho. Trekking begins with an excursion to Dharapani via lowland rice fields, gradually increasing in elevation as we follow the Marshyangdi River.

It ultimately emerges at Manang (3597 m) into a high-altitude barren land after passing through woods of oak and pine.

Treks around Tilicho Lake and the Annapurna Circuit provide breathtaking vistas of the snowy Himalayas as well as a charming community with a diverse population from many ethnic backgrounds. We have altered this itinerary because it essentially follows the same path as the Annapurna Circuit.

Starting in Chame, we proceed to the primary valley to the west, passing through Khangsar Village and ascending to Tilicho Lake. From there, we trek to Yak Kharka and ascend to the 5,416-meter Thorung La pass.

The Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake provides a close-up view of practically all of the peaks in the Annapurna area, including the eighth-highest peak, Manaslu. This trek gives both picturesque scenery and the strange up-close views of the exquisite Annapurna Sierra.

Tilicho Lake and Thorung La Pass, two of the trek’s great viewpoints, provide a wonderful view of the Annapurna Himalayan Range. From these two locations, other nearby mountains including Khangsar Peak, Muktinath Peak, Himlung Himal at 7,126 meters, Nilgiri at 7,061 meters, and Tilicho Peak at 7,134 meters are still completely visible.

Trip Information - Good to Know

Difficulty

The 160 km long Annapurna circuit with Tilicho Lake Trek is broken up into 10-15 km of pure wonder each day. Reaching an elevation of more than 5,400 meters at Thorang La Pass, this strenuous trip is ideal for experienced trekkers wishing to push themselves even farther. This is not suitable for beginners at all.

A certain amount of competence is required due to the elevation, landscape, and complexity of the climb, and you must be conscious of how your body responds to the many elements of a high-altitude setting.

Best seasons

When conditions are mild and rainfall rates are low, September through November is the ideal time to explore the Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake Trek. Annapurna’s autumn weather is also great since it’s not overly hot, damp, or chilly.

Autumn is a terrific time of year to explore beautiful landscapes and go on trail walks. This time of year is typically moderate with sunny days and cool nights. The weather turns frigid after late November when there isn’t a great deal of a shift in temperature.

Although the Annapurna circuit with Tilicho Lake Trek is open to visitors year-round, the aforementioned seasons are the best options, the other seasons come with certain risks or inconveniences of their own.

Altitude Sickness

Altitude sickness is one of the common risks along the Annapurna circuit with Tilicho Lake Trek’s itinerary. Thorong La Pass is the cause of altitude sickness on the Annapurna circuit with Tilicho Lake Trek. Reaching an elevation of 3,500 meters is an initially dangerous job.

The elevation of Thorong La Pass is 5416 meters. Such an altitude jump carries a significant risk. To counter this, we will make sure that you acclimatize well by stopping a day at Manang.

Having a day of rest at Manang will let your body recover and adapt to the atmosphere of the high elevation. Also, keeping yourself well-hydrated keeps you from getting altitude sick.

Accommodation, Food, and Drink

When it comes to lodging options, the Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake offers a wide variety. Lodges, hotels, and guesthouses are readily accessible and offer excellent service, so you may choose to stay there. Only in the lower sections are hotels found, offering you a private stay complete with large rooms furnished with comfortable furnishings and a comfortable full-size bed.

During the Annapurna circuit with Tilicho Lake Trek, there are many well-known Nepalese and Western foods to choose from. But the most popular is traditional Nepalese cuisine, which consists of rice, veggies, lentils, and other foods. They give us a lot of power to continue on the route and are really tasty. Other food options include bread, cooked noodles, momo, Thukpa, traditional Thakali dishes, and potato curry.

There are not a lot of options when it comes to drinks but you might find locally produced brandy. You will also encounter cafes and pubs in the lower towns of Mustang.

Transportation

Every bit of transportation that this trek requires will be provided and managed by us, as a part of the Annapurna circuit with the Tilicho Lake Trek package. This includes all the road transportation and your flight to Pokhara at the end of the trek. You will not have to pay extra for any of these transportation.

Permit

You are legally required to have the ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) entry permit & TIMS card. The ACAP is a government-led effort to maintain and preserve the natural beauty of the trails, the villages, and the surroundings of the Annapurna region.

As a part of the trek package, we will cover all the permits’ expenses and we will also help you get all the necessary permits. Our guides know everything about these slips so stay assured.

Gadgets charging & Internet

You will be able to access the internet and charge your devices for the majority of the trekking days and nights. Electricity is available at every stop but some places might use solar power electricity which could mean that you have to wait for your turn to charge your devices in a communal space like the eating space in tea houses.

These services are luxury services in these regions and might come with a price of a couple of dollars. The Annapurna circuit with the Tilicho Lake Trek package will not cover these expenses as it is your personal expense.

Your Extra expenses

Your travel and medical insurance, your visa fees, tips for the porters and guide, emergency services.
