After eating breakfast early this morning, we will go to Chitwan, traveling for almost six hours by car. Notable for its jungle safaris and warm weather (it gets up to thirty degrees Celsius), Chitwan is a popular destination in West Nepal.

Chitwan offers a ton of activities that will keep you busy throughout the day and till the evening. Chitwan National Park is the primary reason visitors come to Chitwan. It’s huge and offers chances to witness creatures like leopards, elephants, and one-horned rhinos, among others.

Jungle walking is one of the things you may do at the national park. These strolls might range from a few days to as little as 1⁄2 day. You must have a licensed guide with you if you want to participate in these treks. Just like the previous day, we will have an early breakfast in the early hours of the day and head to Lumbini. The road to Lumbini is wall-paved and not as long as Kathmandu to Chitwan. You will travel in a jeep for just about 4 to 5 hours. It takes about 4 to 5 hours to complete our Lumbini tour.

We will take you to the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha, which is one of the most visited holy Buddhist sites worldwide. However, its appeal is not limited to Buddhists; it also appeals to anyone seeking tranquility and serenity in their life.

Buddha was born in Lumbini around 2,600 years ago, or roughly in 566 BC, with the birthname of Siddhartha Gautam. As per the legend, his mother Maya Devi gave birth to Buddha while she was on the way to her mother’s home. The Lumbini trip includes a visit to the remnants of old Buddhist temples, a holy Bodhi tree, and the holy pool of Puskharni, a holy bathing area where Maya Devi once bathed before having Siddhartha Gautam Buddha.

Among the ancient ruins are the Ashoka Pillar, the Maya Devi Temple, and the 8 square kilometer Scary Garden. The region is rich in cultural and religious landmarks, with Buddhist buildings and temples from other countries spread around the sacred place.

On the 5th day of the tour, we will first make our way to Tansen, a beautiful town 85 km north of Lumbini. It should take us about 2 hours to get there. Tansen was among the nation’s strongest kingdoms up to the Shah’s rule.

During the rule of King Mukunda Sen in the sixteenth century, it even almost took over Kathmandu. Tansen rose to prominence as a Newari trade town on the important commerce channel between India and Tibet, despite the Magar decline in authority during the early eighteenth century.

The classic, vibrantly embroidered Dhaka Topi is made in Tansen. The most well-known and well-liked topi within the Nepalese community is the Palpali Dhaka topi, which is sewn to produce the traditional Nepalese hat. Handmade shawls and the traditional Dhaka-made “Thaili” (handbag) are also excellent mementos.

Although many families own and utilize looms where the yarn is created, there are plenty of shops in Dhaka wherein you may tour the little factory where the cloth is knitted. Another interesting this about this town is Taksar, a fascinating area of the city where Tansen’s renowned brass, copper, and bronze creations were made for decades. To start off, you can take a relaxing walk by the lake. There you will get to taste a bunch of street food while enjoying the winds brought by the waves. After your stroll, you can either go out with your friends for a night out or eat at a nearby local restaurant and go to sleep early. You will need to rest as you have a big day coming up.

Bandipur was originally a rural self-sufficient village, occupied by the Magar tribe of Nepal. In the 18th century, many Newari families from the merchant community of Kathmandu migrated to Bandipur and developed it into a significant trading center, known as Bandipur Bazaar, and made it and important stop on the ancient India-Tibet trans-Himalayan trade route.

The trade included exchange of herbs, spices, metals, animals, leather, crop yields and various articles between the two countries. During this period, Bandipur flourished and transformed into a town with paved lanes, townhouses, carved windows and doors on the buildings reflecting Newari architecture, brass utensils in the households.

We will get up before dawn and travel to Sarangkot viewpoint to watch the sunrise. When the first sunrays hit the Himalayas, it will be a sight you won’t forget easily. We will have our breakfast at Sarangkot before making our way down. Following that, we will next visit the major attractions of Pokhara.

As it is widely known, the Shanti Stupa, aka World Peace Stupa, represents peace for both Hinduism and Nepal. Although the enormous white pagoda is visible from Phewa Lake, its magnificence can be appreciated up close. Since everything is silent, you can take in the scenery and the peace.

You can also choose to visit the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave which has an impressive entrance. You can experience the chilly, sweaty underworld as you make your way down the set of stairs to the pit. We will continue down the cave until we reach the little aperture with a mini waterfall, passing by the structure of a cow.

If you are up for the thrills, you can try bungee jumping, or paragliding which takes less than an hour to complete. Technically, bungee jumping only lasts for a couple of minutes but the travel time and initial preparations make it an hour-long activity.

After an exciting day in Pokhara, we will travel to Nagarkot where we will spend the night. An 8-hour ride via jeep will take us to Nagarkot.

Nagarkot to Kathmandu is just an hour away (about 27 kilometers). We will leave for Kathmandu after having a filling morning meal. After reaching Kathmandu, we will travel to a bunch of historical and cultural sites.

We will start with the famous Kathmandu Durbar Square. Durbar Square in Kathmandu is an old royal residence that dates back to the Malla era of rule. Following the unification of Nepal in the eighteenth century, the then King Prithvi Narayan Shah relocated his palace from the Gorkha region to this location.

This location offers views of several historical landmarks, a royal residence with lovely gardens, and pagoda shrines during your visit. Next, we will visit the Buddhist center of Swayambhunath.
