This is the starting of the Poon Hill Chhomrong Village trek. The first day begins with traveling a bus ride from the capital city Kathmandu to the beautiful city of Pokhara.
The traveling distance from Kathmandu to Pokhara is around 6 hours by bus or car and 4-5 hours if you travel by bike and 30 minutes by air travel. The roads traveling to Pokhara by bus are mostly around the hills and alongside the Trishuli River.
As the roads are through the hills, 85 percent of the roads are pitched and 15 percent of the roads are slightly rough making it an adventurous road trip. On the first day of our trek, we will reach Pokhara around the time when the sun starts to go down.
We will be staying at the hotel and be freshen up. A while later we can also explore the place and enjoy the environment. Tomorrow our next destination will be Nayapul and Tikhedhunga.

The next day of the trek. We will have our breakfast early in the morning and we will ride our way to Nayapul from Pokhara by bus. The degree of the quality of the road is quite good. You will have a decent ride with the beautiful views of the mountains, alongside the twisting flows of the river around you. After 1 and a half hours of traveling by road from Pokhara, we will reach Nayapul.
We will now be traveling to Tikhedhunga. It is 1,500m above sea level and the total distance of the trek is 9.2 km / 5.7 miles. We will be walking to Tikhedhunga from Nayapul. The duration is 4 – 5 hours of hiking and we will stay at the lodge there. On the other alternative, there is also an option for camping. We will stay overnight here.

The third day of the trek. After having our lunch we will be moving on with our trek and travel to Ghorepani today. We will witness the majestic views of the Himalayas alongside the river bodies near us on this route.
Experiencing the beautiful flora, and fauna, making the trek more vibrant and elegant. On this route, the majority of the traditional villages established are owned by the Gurung, Magar, and Thakali people making them the only inhabitants living here.
After 6 hours of traveling and hiking from Tikhedhunga, finally we will reach our destination Ghorepani. It is 2,850m above sea level and the total distance of the trek is 12.9 km / 8 miles. Today we will be staying at the lodge in Ghorepani and the next day we will be traveling to Tadapani.

This is our 4th day of our trek. We will reach our ultimate destination to Poon Hill today. We will wake up super early in the morning and go on a hike to Poon hill from Ghorepani.
The total distance of the hike is 11km which will take around 6 hours in total. Poon Hill is famously known as a place in the hills to watch the sunrise view. The place also has a tower from where you will see majestic panoramic views of the early sun rays hitting the horizon of the Himalayas.
We then will return to the lodge for lunch. After having our lunch we trek to Tadapani which is 2400m above sea level. After the majestic mornings and walk full afternoons, after 5 hrs. of walking, we reach the lodge in Tadapani. To end this joyful day we will have the authentic Nepali cuisine dinner and stay for the night.

From today we will be returning to Kathmandu. We will hike towards the Chhomrong village today. Further, as we move ahead this trail leads to Ghandruk from Chhomrong through the oak and Rhododendron Forest along the way.
We will be reaching the forests after the 3 hours of hike. Chhomrong is recognized as the junction of all the trails especially those that lead to the great Annapurna Sanctuary.
You can view Mount Annapurna South (7219m) and Hiunchuli (6441m) from the village as it seems just next to you. After having a one-on-one stare down with these mountains we reach the lodge almost in the evening.. We will have our authentic Nepali dinner in the lodge at Chhomrong as we will be staying here for the night.

Today is the second last day of the wonderful trek. We will be eating our breakfast in the Chhomrong village. We then will continue our journey to reach Deurali today. It is 1.5 hours of hiking today and also can be the last to surround ourselves with the village environment.
It will be a memorable journey today. We are accepted to take as many tap outs and breaks as we want and enjoy every seconds of it in this 42.6km journey to Deurali.

Reaching the valley of Deurali will give you the earthy vibe surrounded by forests with many oak and rhododendron trees. You definitely observed a few hours ago before reaching the lodge. As you walk the trek you will see the Annapurna range in every step of your journey.

The second last day of the trek. It is a lovely experience trekking through rich surroundings on the path to Deurali. The journey will be a cultural experience as you pass through welcoming towns.
You will see the daily lifestyles of people from the Gurung, Magar, and Tharu ethnicities. Further down the trail, you will be entering the hills with spectacular views of the Annapurna range and Lamjung range. However, the landscape is rough here.
As we get closer to Phedi it gets colorful and more beautiful complimenting the beauties near us. From here you will be driving toward to Pokhara from Phedi for a short distance. Depending on traffic, it will be an hour-long ride. We will stay overnight here in Pokhara and return to Kathmandu tomorrow.

Today is the last day of the Poon Hill chhomrong village trek and we will be returning to Kathmandu. There are two options to do so. Either you can book a bus to travel by the road or you can book a flight ticket to Kathmandu.
You are free to select your preference of traveling to Kathmandu which is either by bus or flight. Traveling by bus it will take you around 6-8 hours or less if there is less traffic. It is in expensive yet competitive and more comforting than the flight.
The best thing is you can see more of the countryside and the landscapes of Nepal while traveling. On the other hand, if you wish to travel by flight the pricing will be a little expensive than the bus ticket.
However, the duration from Pokhara to Kathmandu is 30 minutes max. If you are lucky enough to have a window seat then you can view the big ranges of the mountains as well.
